Salfords Cricket Club Won 82 runs

Match report Salfords Dough-nut let The Side Down With Victory

Salfords 1XI 157 All Out beat South Nutfield 2XI 82 All Out by 82 runs

Salfords 1XI celebrated International Doughnut Day in style with an 82 run over South Nutfield 2XI. With Captain Beaver a last minute withdrawal through over indulgence, Vice-captain Catt won the toss and decided to bat. The plan seemed to be backfiring as Dias (4-29) took early wickets as Salfords found themselves 4 wickets down. R Besley steadied the ship with 40, with Catt (22), Palmer (20) and Eaton (23) making middle-order contributions, before Salfords were bowled out for 157. Despite a faltering batting line-up, Salfords bowlers have been exemplary all season and again here, as the evergreen Palmer (3-21) and Lancaster (3-18) did the damage after restrictive opening spells from Rylan Eaton (1-10) and Woolcott (2-13). Salfords cantered home to take 37 points with Ricky Kidd doing a roly-poly to celebrate.
